Before you started using e-Track, how did you manage your keys, and what were the biggest challenges you faced?
We used a pair of small lockable key cabinets, which involved searching for keys, as nobody put anything back in the same place/if at all.
We were also unable to leave keys of high importance in there due to potential misuse.
Now that you've been using e-Track for a while, what difference has it made to the way your team works? Has anything become easier, quicker or more secure?
I can now carry on with my own work instead of continually having to get up and get keys for staff. There were often times I wasn’t in the office to issue a key, so production would come to a standstill, this is no longer an issue.
With the e-Track system, our van and forklift keys are only issued to staff with correct licenses.
I’m no longer needed to issue keys, and less time is spent looking for keys as the users know their name will be recorded on the system, so they return them when they’re finished.
How have you found working with the e-Track team, from your first conversations through to installation and ongoing support?
From my first query to installation, I’ve always found the process pain free. Ive dealt with support a few times and found them very prompt and helpful, either for changing the settings or with a fault. The staff that attended site have always been very polite, clean and tidy, and knowledgeable.
For TfL, the difference has been about more than simply storing keys securely.
It’s meant less time spent searching for keys, less reliance on one person to issue them, and greater control over who can access important vehicle and equipment keys.
And perhaps most importantly, their team can get on with their jobs without key management becoming a bottleneck.
